Bonjour, nice to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit more about myself.
Blandine van Noordt-Grauer
I was born and raised in France, but I have been living in Poortugaal for the past 35 years. I have been painting with great passion and pleasure since the age of 23.
How do I work
I work exclusively with oil paints and a palette knife. Through my paintings, I aim to capture the beauty of nature, light, vibrant colours, strength, movement, but also tranquillity and joy. The palette knife technique requires me to work at a fast pace, as the colours are blended directly on the canvas.
Guitarist
Besides painting, I also enjoy playing classical guitar. My painting technique has, in fact, been directly influenced by my training as a classical guitarist. The short strokes on the canvas, the coloured notes of my guitar and the long, flowing curves come together to create an eternal melody.
Light and Fauvist art movements
In these dark times, I try to touch people’s emotions through light and offer them a sense of comfort and solace. My work ranges from abstract to contemporary art, in which beauty, vibrant colours, joy, fantasy and imagination play an important role. I draw inspiration from biblical stories about light, as well as from the Impressionist and Fauvist art movements. The elements of nature and musical impressions are also important sources of inspiration for me.
Over the years, I have sold many of my paintings both in the Netherlands and abroad, and I regularly receive new commissions. Feel free to explore my gallery and discover how my work resonates with you and what it evokes within you.
Warm regards.
